50 Shades of Dirt - Uses for Grime Buster

Today’s blog theme is a bit dirty. Not in smutty kind of way but in a household dirt way.

I bet most of you will have at least three different bottles of cleaning products under the sink. I know I did until I took my bottle of Grime Buster home to test. I mixed up a double shot solution in a spray bottle and I use it for everything. In the kitchen, the bathroom, the car and in the garden. It cleans and leaves a smear free finish on most surfaces even glass.

I found out that Grime Buster has anti-bacterial properties and if just a splash is added to water it makes a very good glass and mirror cleaner. One of the ingredients is a dirt lifter which basically means you can use it outside on plastic window frames, garden furniture and any other surface you wish to clean and rinse it off leaving a nice clean finish. (You will need to rub the dirt with a sponge or cloth)

It’s just so handy having one product for so many uses. I have had reports of car valets using it as it does a better job than the branded products.

Imagine just having one bottle that can do so many tasks. Buying concentrates makes a lot of sense.

Azpects EASY Efflorescence Destroyer

Azpects EASY Efflorescence Destroyer removes SALT STAINS from new brickwork and paving to give long lasting results.

This professional grade, low odour concentrated product can be used on external surfaces to remove salt stains from walls, paths & block driveways. It is also Granite & Marble friendly.

Using breakthrough technology it does more than just remove the visible presence of salt but actually neutralises the salts within the brick, stone or concrete preventing the stains reappearing.

This organic blend aids the removal of chlorides, sulphates and salts. It dissolves and lifts the salt film back into a solution to be rinsed away. This product contains NO hydrochloric or citric acids.

Apply with a brush or sprayer; leave for 2 hours (or longer if denser materials are used) and then simply rinse away.

Is your Patio turning green? We may have an explanation

Is your Patio turning green? We may have the explanation below

Generally speaking, here at the Azpects customer complaints desk I feel quite lonely as I rarely hear from anyone. Now whilst that is a good sign of reliable products I can get quite bored.

Luckily for me, Mother Nature has been at it again and my phone has warmed up a little.

The cause of this sudden interest in me is all due to Algae. That yucky green and black life form that thrives in our lovely damp weather.

In some areas of the country the growth of said little blighter has been upsetting people by turning their beautiful driveways, paths and patios a varying shade of green and making areas slippery.

Now this effect is an environmental issue, not the fault of anyone or anything relating to work carried out - it is purely 'one of those things’.

So what can you do about it? Well a look at www.pavingexpert.com or similar forum will provide you with some useful answers but basically speaking you will need to use some form of algae remover and treat the affected area.

Then, after cleaning you need to adjust your thinking; the garden is outside! It will get dirty and in time the appearance will change.

All joking aside, over time anything that is subject to the elements and left in the garden will attract algae, moss and lichen and unfortunately due to the higher than average rain fall and warmer temperatures experienced this year there has been a marked increase in unwanted fungal growth.

The ground under your paving has been holding moisture for even longer than usual which causes the perfect conditions for algae and other unwanted organic matter to grow furiously.

This higher moisture content can also make lighter coloured joints appear darker that they originally were. Things will generally start to improve in the following summer months when the weather is drier and warmer.

Here at Azpects we sell helpful products to aid you in keeping your garden's hard surfaces looking better for longer such as:

EASY ALGAE REMOVER
EASY PATIO & DECK CLEANER
EASY GRIME BUSTER

EASY BLACK SPOT REMOVER

Why has my customers paving joint turned darker in places?

Why has my customers paving joint turned darker in places? Is it the product changing colour?

I’ve seen an increase recently in calls from customers enquiring as to why their lovely clean paving joints are going funny colours.
The reason mainly is all due to the exceptional warm, damp weather this year creating the perfect habitat for fungi and algae to grow.
The colour in our EASYJoint product is derived from the sand used itself so will not change.
One particularly horrible looking fungus is of the Cladosporium species. It is attracted to the warm moisture in the paving joint and soon sets about growing and can make EASYJoint appear to turn from a light beige joint to virtually black!
Where does it come from you may ask? Well Cladosporium spores like many others are carried by the wind and are extremely abundant in quantity.
Generally, if you have trees around your area there is a good chance that your garden will get a good helping of many various types of airborne spores and seeds.
So what can you do to help keep your beautiful patio looking good?
I can suggest using products from our EASYCare range such as EASY ALGAE REMOVER.
EASY ALGAE REMOVER contains a clever ingredient that remains even after rinsing to keep on protecting from algae and fungal growth for weeks after.
